Effective 29 August 2026
Searchy is a Google Search Console client for iOS and Android. The app reads your Search Console data directly from Google with your own read-only access; there is no Searchy server that receives, stores or processes that data.
- What this policy covers
- This policy covers the Searchy mobile app for iOS and Android and this website. The data controller is the developer of Searchy, reachable at mateusz.stanislaw.wozniak@gmail.com.
- Google account data
- Signing in uses Google Sign-In and requests a single Search Console scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly, which is read-only. The app also receives the basic profile of the signed-in account (email address, name, profile picture) to show which account is active. The access token is held by the Google Sign-In SDK in the operating system keychain or keystore and is never sent anywhere except to Google.
- Limited use of Google user data
- Searchy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Search Console data is used only to display reports inside the app on your device. It is never sold, never transferred to third parties except as needed to provide the app's features, never used for advertising, and never read by humans.
- Product analytics
- The app uses Mixpanel to understand how its features are used. Mixpanel is configured with EU data residency, so events are sent to Mixpanel servers in the European Union. Events cover in-app actions such as opening a screen, changing a filter, exporting a report or adding a widget, together with a pseudonymous installation identifier, app version, device model, operating system version and language. Search Console data — property names, search queries, clicks, impressions, CTR and positions — is never included in analytics events. Analytics can be turned off in the app settings; the identifier is then discarded.
- Data stored on the device
- The selected property, date range, comparison period, filters, chart metrics and table sorting are stored in the operating system preference store, and the most recently loaded report is cached on the device. Signing out removes the cached report and the stored selection.
- Home screen widget
- The home screen widget stores the last synchronised numbers for the selected property in a shared app container so the system can render the widget while the app is closed. A background task refreshes those numbers using the same read-only access. Removing the widget stops the refresh; uninstalling the app clears the container.
- CSV export and share cards
- Exporting a table to CSV or sharing a summary image creates a file in the app cache and hands it to the operating system share sheet. Where the file goes from there is decided by you and the app you pick; Searchy does not upload it.
- Third parties
- Two processors are involved: Google LLC, which provides sign-in and the Search Console API, and Mixpanel, which processes analytics events on EU servers. No data is shared with advertising networks, data brokers or any other third party.
- Retention
- Data on the device stays until you sign out or uninstall the app. Analytics events are retained by Mixpanel for twelve months and then deleted. Searchy keeps no server-side copy of your Search Console data because it has no server.
- Your rights
- You can revoke the app’s access at any time under Third-party apps & services in your Google Account, which immediately ends its ability to read Search Console data. Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the analytics data associated with your installation, and you may object to its processing, by writing to mateusz.stanislaw.wozniak@gmail.com.
- Children
- Searchy is a tool for website owners and is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect their data.
- Changes to this policy
- Material changes are published on this page with a new effective date, and the app links here from its settings screen.
